School Diary

Manage circulars, homework assignments, teacher remarks, and parent-teacher messages — all in one place.

Overview

The School Diary module is a communication hub between the school, teachers, students, and parents. It supports four types of entries:

Circulars

School-wide or class-specific announcements from the administration. Can be targeted to an entire branch or specific classes/sections.

Homework

Subject-wise homework assignments posted by teachers with due dates. Linked to specific subjects and sections.

Remarks

Individual student remarks from teachers — both positive feedback and constructive observations. Visible to the student and their parents.

Messages

Private parent-teacher communication threads. Teachers can initiate and parents can reply, creating a conversation history.

Using the Diary (SchoolAdmin)

Navigate to Student Diary from the sidebar. As a SchoolAdmin, you can view all diary entries across the school.

Filters

Use the filter bar at the top to narrow entries:

  • Branch — Select a specific branch (SchoolAdmin only; BranchAdmin sees their own)
  • Class — Filter by class (or "All Classes")
  • Date Range — Set From/To dates
  • Click "Load" to apply filters

Creating a Circular

  1. Go to the Circulars tab
  2. Click "New Circular"
  3. Enter the circular title and message content
  4. Choose the scope: Branch-wide or a specific class/section
  5. Click Save — the circular is immediately visible to all targeted students and parents

Homework Tab

View all homework entries assigned by teachers. Each entry shows:

  • Subject name and section
  • Assignment description
  • Due date
  • Teacher who assigned it
  • Acknowledgement count (how many students marked it as seen)

Remarks Tab

View all teacher remarks about individual students. Each remark includes the student name, teacher, date, and remark type (positive/constructive).

Messages Tab

View all parent-teacher message threads. Messages show the conversation history with timestamps and reply status.

Student Acknowledgement

When students view homework or circulars in their portal, they can acknowledge the entry. This acknowledgement is tracked and visible to teachers and admins, helping ensure important communications are seen.
