Online Examination System
Build exam papers with sections, conduct exams digitally, auto-evaluate, and manage student attempts.
Building an Exam Paper
- Create an exam with Online Exam toggled on.
- Open the Schedule for the exam and select a class.
- In the Paper column, click Create for a subject.
- In the Paper Modal:
- Set Title and Duration (minutes).
- Add optional Instructions.
- Add Sections (e.g., Section A — MCQ, Section B — Subjective).
- Select questions from the Question Bank per section.
- A question can only appear in one section.
- Click Create Paper. Total marks are auto-calculated.
💡 Sections: Use sections to organize your paper (e.g., "Section A — Objective 20 marks", "Section B — Short Answer 30 marks"). Each section has its own title and instructions.

Paper Edit Rules
⚠️ Lock Logic: Papers are locked (read-only) if:
• Any student has already attempted the exam
• The scheduled exam date has passed
• Any student has already attempted the exam
• The scheduled exam date has passed
Student Exam Experience
- Student logs in → My Examination → Online Exams tab.
- Published papers for their class appear with schedule details.
- Click Start Exam → countdown timer begins.
- Navigate questions, flag for review, answers auto-save.
- Submit manually or auto-submit when time expires.
- Objective questions (MCQ, TrueFalse, FillInBlank, MatrixMatch) are auto-evaluated instantly.
- Subjective questions require manual grading by the teacher.
Managing Student Attempts
Click the 👥 (Students) icon on a paper in the schedule grid to see:
- Student name, attempt status, score, and submission time.
- Reset button — resets a submitted exam back to "InProgress" so the student can resume. Only available if the exam date hasn't passed. The student's answers are preserved.
